Yukon has joined Alberta, Saskatchewan, and other provinces in refusing to participate in the federal gun buyback program. The territorial government announced in the Speech from the Throne its intention to support the rights of legal gun owners, recognizing the importance of firearms for hunting traditions, First Nations communities, and rural residents.
